Africa Express: the team which left Morocco at the end of April for a 10-month tour of Africa came back to Paris last week!

Since the launch of the project in April, the Africa Express team has had the opportunity to travel on several African trains and each of these trains offered a unique experience.
It was in Egypt that the team members boarded their last African train – a night train with their own compartment – from Luxor to Cairo. Again, the journey was very comfortable with dinner and breakfast included. They thus successfully completed the full circle between Paris, Tangier, Cape Town and Cairo!
In total the team spent 16 nights onboard a train and travelled over 15,000 km using rail transport!

It was with these many memories and the desire to share them all that the team members arrived in Paris Gare de Lyon railway station from Turin on 16 December. They were met by friends and family, with whom they will spend the end-of-year celebrations.

UIC once again congratulates the team on this tremendous project and very much looks forward to receiving the news and information that will be sent out in due course.
