The 8th “Transport and Logistics 2014” International Trade Fair opened in Minsk on 7 October 2014, which included the participation of Belarusian Railways.
A range of important meetings with foreign partners were held during the Belarusian transport week. One of the main topics discussed was the improvement of transport services. Belarusian Railways have already carried out significant work in this field. In July 2014, the Transport Service Centre opened at Baranavičy Centraĺnyja station. Vladimir Morozov, Head of the Belarusian Railways, also emphasised that other innovative methods and procedures of work would be implemented. He said: “the main objective is to provide our customers with comprehensive, prompt and convenient services.”
In addition, the Head of Belarusian Railways reported on the implementation of some freight and passenger transport projects.
The Belarusian Railway stand provided presentation materials and data about the technical, technological and handling capacities of the railways. A range of issues concerning logistics, customer services and transit development were discussed during the trade fair.
Belarusian Railways also participated in the Transport and Logistics Congress. Its representatives took part in the sessions, roundtables, discussions and research seminars devoted to the development of multimodal transport and implementation of new information technologies, which can improve transport and logistics services.
Among the participants were the Republican Forwarding Unitary Enterprise “BELINTERTRANS” transport-logistics centre of Belarusian Railways and railcar manufacturing facilities of the Republic of Belarus.
