UIC-FIATA Contact Group meeting to be held from 12 – 13 May 2016 in Shenzhen, China

The UIC-FIATA Contact Group is organising a larger meeting which is scheduled to take place from 12 – 13 May 2016 in Shenzhen, China.

The main points to be discussed are:

  • The expectations of Freight Forwarders vis-à-vis Rail Service Providers with regard to trade between China and Europe concerning the suitable commodities to transport on this trade route
  • Simplified Border Crossing facilitation in the digital age and facilitation of procedures and documentation on the Eurasian Rail Link
  • Practical results of using different rail corridors in trade between China and Europe
  • Developments of rail infrastructure and the expansion of terminal operations on the Eurasian rail link
