Meetings of the Commercial and Technical Groups held on 4 and 5 October 2016 in Paris

The meetings of the Commercial and Technical Groups took place in Paris on 4 and 5 October at UIC headquarters. It was attended by representatives of DB, SNCF, ATOC, SBB/CFF/FSS, NMBS/SNCB, NS, DSB, ÖBB, EURAIL, RZD, TRAINOSE, MAV START, CD, PKP, NSB, ATTICA GROUP, ZSSK, LINKON, TRENITALIA, RENFE, CFL. Mr Barrón, Director of the UIC Passenger Department, and Marc Guigon and Luis Casado, Senior Advisors, represented UIC.

The Commercial Meeting took place on 4 October. It was chaired by the President of the Commercial Group, Mr Rodrigo Hilario, from RENFE. The activities of the different working groups during the last six months were reported: Mr Laurent Pollet gave an overview of the IRT work, Mr Jan Vavra explained the activities of the East West Traffic working group, and finally, Ms Natascha Hooft presented the latest developments in the NRT working group. There were also presentations from EURAIL and the CIT.

The Joint Meeting of the Commercial and the Technical Group took place on 5 October, chaired by Mr Queree, president of the Technical Group. It started with a report of the Graphical Site Interface given by Mr Clemens Gantert, head of the TAP groups, given the commercial importance of this technical activity. It was followed by a presentation about MERITS and PRIFIS by Marc Guigon, followed by a discussion about the current situation of these projects. Next, Joerg Jordan, new chairman of the PATRIC Steering Board, gave a presentation of the current activities of this working group. The meeting ended with a presentation from the CIT about data protection given by Ms Payosova.

The Technical Group meeting was held on the afternoon of 5 October. It started with a presentation showing the latest developments of the TLG and TSG subgroups, given by the chairmen of these groups, Mr Sarfatti and Mr De Vriendt. This was followed by a presentation given by Mr Clemens Gantert, regarding the work conducted in the TAP groups, which included an update on the study on control data in booking that is being carried out as a parallel activity of the group. The meeting ended with a technical presentation on MERITS and PRIFIS given by Mr Fabrice Setta.

The next Commercial and Technical Meetings will take place in Paris on 14 and 15 March 2017 at UIC headquarters.
