The aim of this project group is to analyse effective solutions for station security measures and their impact on station business elements and customer perception and to prepare a “security of stations handbook”.
Within the last seven months, the project group organised three Expert Workshops to share the knowledge and the experience about different kinds of security measures regarding different station types and situations. In addition, the project group launched a dedicated online survey, which has been carried out to examine different practices in the field of security provision and the influence of security tools on different areas of station management.
All this information is summarised in the first part of the handbook. The handbook contains the description of over 20 security measures, an analysis of the impact of security tools on station management and recommendations for different types of stations. In addition, the handbook will include working and check lists for practical usability. It was discussed and verified during the last project group meeting, held on 5 September 2017.
During the NextStation Conference, which will be held from 19 – 20 October 2017 in Madrid, the main results will be presented. Further information about the conference are available at http://www.nextstation2017.com/. Afterwards we will inform you about access to the final document.
