International drawing contest for children on safety at level crossings

As part of the 2011 ILCAD campaign, an international children’s drawing competition on safety at level crossings is planned to be held on the occasion of the International Level Crossing Awareness Day 2011 (ILCAD) which will take place on 9 June.

The competition is open to all children (including those of UIC HQ colleagues and the staff of UIC members) in the following age groups: 4-7, 8-11, 12-15 and 16-18.

Whilst of course the drawings are supposed to be done by hand, we would ask that all entries be scanned and sent electronically using a high resolution file, with the original sent by post. Each entry must include the name, age and contact details (preferably an E-mail address) of the artist.

The deadline for sending drawings is 13 May 2011. Please address them to:

Isabelle Fonverne
UIC
16 rue Jean Rey
75015 PARIS
France

or by email to fonverne at uic.org

The judging of all the entries will take place in Paris and the results of the winners will be announced on 24 May 2011. The decision of the judges will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. The best drawings will be awarded a prize that will be given at a later date.

The chosen drawings will be uploaded to the ILCAD website www.ilcad.org in advance of the international campaign on 9 June.
